Directions to our three Parish Churches

You are welcome to visit our three Churches, to join us in worship or to share for a while the places that we serve and minister to in the name of our Lord Jesus.

Our Churches of St Nicholas, Hardwicke, St John the Baptist, Elmore and St Laurence, Longney are joined in a United Benefice located on the southern outskirts of Gloucester.

The Church of St Nicholas, Hardwicke

The Parish area of St Nicholas, Hardwicke is shown below...

Hardwicke is an ancient village south of Gloucester, its name is derived from "Herd - wick", a village with herds of sheep or cows. Nowadays most of our parishioners live on the housing estates north-east of the Church. Hardwicke Church is located just off the M5 on the southern edge of Gloucester, more detailed maps can be found here...

The Church of St John the Baptist, Elmore

The Parish area of St John the Baptist, Elmore is shown below...

Elmore is a small farming community adjacent to the River Severn, spread around Elmore Court, the seat of the Guise family since the middle ages. Today the economy is still based on farming with newer arrivals commuting to work

Elmore Church is located just to the south of Gloucester between the Gloucester and Sharpness Ship Canal and the River Severn, more detailed maps can be found here...

The Church of St Laurence, Longney

The Parish area of St Laurence, Longney is shown below...

Longney is also a farming community which has a very popular primary school. The derivation of the name is "Long-ney", a long raised area close to a river. Longney Church, as with Elmore, is located between the Canal and the River Severn, more detailed maps can be found here...

If you wish to look inside these Churches outside service times, you will need to pre-arrange a key, since, with regret, they are usually kept locked for security reasons.
