We featured Taize on the "Sunday Spirit" programme on Severn FM from 1.00 - 2.00pm on Sunday January 29th.

The Taize community, founded in 1940, welcomes visitors who'd like to spend a few days getting close to God through meditation, singing and simple living. At any given time there are several thousand there from about a hundred countries, enjoying a week-long retreat.

"Revenge of the Teddies" - Children in Need at Hardwicke Church

On Sunday November 20th, the nearest Sunday to "Children in Need" Friday, we hosted
a "Teddy Bear Guest Service" in which Guest Teddies brought their own collection of £1.00
all in aid of the BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Great fun was had and the annual rendition of the Teddy Bear theme song with the memorable
lyric, "If you go down to the Church today" was particularly moving :-)

Prizes were awarded for the Smallest Teddy Bear, the Largest Teddy Bear & the Oldest Teddy Bear!
Also cellphone pictures were taken preserving the final moments of the service... see above!!

Other members of the congregation wisely decided that discretion was the better part of valour
and joined the queue for tea and coffee at that very moment.

We meet at 9.30 am every Thursday (term time only) in St. Nicholas Church.
We would love to see you there.

Daily Prayers for Busy People

Many have found benefit from keeping a time of prayer daily, to help with this the Church of England offers a convenient way to share the prayer life of the Church online

Click on either Morning or Evening below to display a complete day specific prayer service including the lectionary appointed readings and psalms. Across the Church of England, hundreds if not thousands of Christians will be using this same service along with you

Hopefully, if you have a tabbed browser and I have the coding right, the prayers will open in a new tab
so you dont lose our website in the process !
